First China Trade Deficit in 6 Years

In April 2010, China reported its first monthly trade deficit in six years. The March 2010 deficit report of $7.24 billion was the first deficit since April 2004. The Los Angeles Times predicts that China's exports will rebound in the coming months as the pace of import growth slows with the Chinese central government's plan to tighten bank lending. (ref.
